How to Get the Best Out of Your

Winter Wedding Gallery

Some things you might not have thought through winter from a photographers perspective…

WALKING IN A

WINTER WONDERLAND

CHOOSING YOUR WINTER WEDDING VENUE

Don’t let the cold weather put you off ordering the dress of your dreams in fear that you may be cold on the day, especially when walking around the grounds of your venue getting some beautiful wintery wedding snaps - whether its a spaghetti strap satin gown, or a strapless mermaid tail dress, go for it! But consider layering up with a fabulous feather shawl, or a rocker leather jacket, or even matching coats with your partner. Cool additions like these really boast personality and offer a good variety for your album overall. They are a great thing to invest in, especially if you go down the more casual route of a leather jacket, because you can wear it again and again! Also other little additions like umbrellas, wellies, walking boots are a great thing to consider, lean into the risk of poor weather by being extra prepared with all these additions that photograph so well. Be prepared for anything and you will also elliviate that stress of hoping for good weather, because unfortunately, we live in the UK, and we have no such guarantee (even in August tbf!).

TIMINGS

Our main piece of advice when booking a winter wedding, would be to firstly consider what time of day you book your ceremony. This will determine how much light we get to play with for your portrait and group shots afterward. Especially during those dark nights when the sun sets at 4pm, if you choose to have a later ceremony i.e. 3pm, then we may be limited on where we are able to go for those gorge post-ceremony shots, and may be mostly restricted to indoors. However, if you did want to opt for a later ceremony on those dark evenings then maybe consider doing a ‘first look’ (check out our first look blog to find out what this is all about and see if its for you), if so, it might be a lovely idea to do your portrait shots before your ceremony, that way we will have light to play with and won’t feel as much pressure post-ceremony to get those gorgeous shots within the grounds of your venue.

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
