A romantic Elopement in the Lake District

Charlotte & Ben

At the end of 2020 the wedding industry had taken such a hit because of the virus and so many couples were so distraught about their weddings plans that I wanted spread some love so I put together a competition for one very deserved couple to win the opportunity to have an elopement completely taken care of. I worked with the gorgeous celebrant Charlotte Pennefeather, Claire from Floral Grace was to created one of her amazing bouquets, crowns and button hole, Amelia Jane was to document their ceremony on video and I was to offer their photography for the day, it was an absolute dream team and after reading Charlotte and Ben’s story so far with tears in our eyes, we knew we had to offer this amazing gift to them.

The day itself was rainy and stormy, I arrived and lovely Ben was waiting with celebrant Charlotte sheltered under the arms of the tall trees in the woods near the lake, our bride Charlotte pulled up and stepped out of the car like a boho goddess with their two gorgeous twins in little bow ties in their trailer to walk to see Daddy. Charlotte wasn’t letting the rain get in her way and she walked towards Ben with a beaming smile.

Ben waited patiently for his bride to arrive and was so happy to see her as she walked into the woods. The ceremony was beautiful and the boys played beside us as Ben and Charlotte made their commitment to each other. The love and strength this little family has was totally felt by all.

We went off into the rain for couple portraits and they both absolutely embraced the weather and totally rocked it. It was an incredibly special day and I wish these two newlyweds all the love and happiness in the world as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
